Position Overview:
The Configuration Specialist (CS) is responsible for pre and post-sales technical support for the PowerHouse external Sales Team. The role consists of creation of detailed technical solutions for new product implementations or replacement of aging equipment within the market. A key requirement of this role is having detailed technical understanding of the complete product and solutions offered by PowerHouse, and our data centre partner, Vertiv (formerly Liebert). The CS will also have ongoing involvement in data centre project delivery in the PowerHouse organization, such as opportunities to contribute to the design and engineering of new AI data centers, and the upgrading of existing data centers to continually improve reliability and efficiency.
The position is located in Calgary, in our head office, and will encompass supporting external sales staff across Western Canada and the Territories. At times, travel may be required for training. The CS will work closely with PowerHouse Group Sales and Operations teams and report to the PowerHouse Technical Services Manager. This role requires close communication with the Director of Vertiv Sales and their distributed team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Prepare BOM/CPQ configurations for sales team, preparing associated site drawings (Visio/CAD/Revit), 3rd party product information and integrations
- Review and provide technical response package for RFx
- Creation of Technical Proposals, Statements of Work, and quotes –using various MS tools and custom software
- Executes high level system designs that may include detailed site surveys, infrastructure configurations, power, cooling, containment, space calculations, cabling, DCIM, and IT load calculations.
- Act as a support mechanism to the project delivery organization as when and where needed. (drawings, reviews, etc.)
- Work cohesively across multiple groups (internally) to ensure that expectations and performance goals are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain awareness of the latest industry trends, drivers and keep a strong focus on multiple product lines.

Education and Experience:
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred, Certificate, or minimum of 5 years field-based technology solutions experience
- Deep understanding of relevant technologies such as AI, Data Centre, Unified Communications, IOT, Cloud, SCADA, Security etc.
- Preference given to candidates with mission critical experience and understanding.
